Katherine knows the issues that matter to Melrose and Wakefield residents. She has proven herself to be a tireless advocate for local issues, and as our State Representative, brings a strong voice to Beacon Hill.

Public Office- State Representative (2008 - present), Melrose School Committee (2001-2007).

Committees- Joint Committee on Education; Joint Committee on the Judiciary; Municipalities and Regional Government;

Caucuses: Treasurer, Caucus of Women Legislators; Library Caucus, MWRA Caucus; Green School Building Caucus; Biotech Caucus and Mental Health Caucus.

Organizations- Melrose Democratic City Committee, Massachusetts Association of School Committees, Women’s Bar Association.

Education- St. Lawrence University, BA; Cornell Law School , JD; Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University , MPA.

Katherine and her husband, Rodney, have three wonderful sons named Addison, 13, Jared, 10, and Nathaniel, 8. All attend the Melrose Public Schools. Katherine's boys are her main source of strength and motivate her to make the district's schools among the best in the nation and to keep our neighborhoods safe.
